Amaya Cooper
Amaya Cooper was raised in San Antonio, Texas until family business brought her to Franklin, Tennessee. She attended and finished out high school at Fred J Page, a fellow Williamson County School. While at Page, she continued her saxophone studies, and also accomplished high achievements with both the Marching Band and the Winter Drumline, playing low brass and marching percussion.
Amaya graduated from Page and continued to participate in Drum Corps International with Music City Drum Corps, and the WGI Percussion Circuit with Audio Theater. While competing and practicing for both groups, she was studying at Middle Tennessee State University. Since her own marching history has come to a close, she has graduated from Middle Tennessee State with a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Songwriting, under the Recording Industry Department, and a minor in Music Industry.
Currently, Amaya works with both the low brass and woodwind section at Ravenwood musically, as well as visually. In her extra time, she helps other schools. Her main job is working as a technician at Fuse Technical Group, where she quality checks artists’ equipment before it is sent off for their shows and tours, receives them back, and then ships them to another artist. She’s very excited to be at Ravenwood and help the students achieve new heights in their marching and performing careers.
